After a whole year of being m.i.a from the world of blogging, I'm back. About a month ago, after a night on the town with my husband at one of our favorite places in West Seattle, we both came to the conclusion that it's something I need to get back into. So here I am. Back. And ready to rumble. :) So where on Earth do I start!? How can I possibly catch up on an entire year!? To make a very long story short... here are a few highlights that have happened over the past year: 1.) Dan finished up his degree at Northern Arizona University 2.) We celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary 3.) Took a trip to Hawaii 4.) Started new jobs 5.) We moved to SEATTLE, WA!!! Yes. We moved. To a whole new place. And so far we really love it here. This truly is, an inspiring city. A few things that I've learned in the short period of time we've lived here. 1.) Seattle is full of what everyone here calls "foodies." I LOVE THIS! As a fellow foodie myself, I feel like I fit right in! So what is a foodie you ask? Well, a foodie is someone who is obsessed with cooking, baking, recipes and eating delicious food with wonderful friends! 2.) Everyone here is out-doorsy. (Partially to make up for being a foodie, I think ;) ) This is Seattle trait number 2 that I LOVE! My husband and I are big out-doorsy people. We love to hike, camp, rock climb, build bonfires, you name it and we're down. There are so many places to explore here in Washington I can't help but feel a bit overwhelmed at times. 3.) There is a TON of art and music in this city. And if you're not an artist/musician you are an enthusiast and support the cause. 4.) GREEN! Seattle is green in two ways. The first being the most obvious. It is in fact a lush, beautiful place where lilies grow like weeds and trees reach unthinkable heights. The second is that everyone here is environmentally aware. There are recycle bins on every corner, in every restaurant and in every parking garage. 5.) Seattle has the nicest drivers. I'm dead serious. I turn on my blinker and people slow down to let me over. People respect the bike lanes and everyone slows down for pedestrians without getting snarky. It's insane. After years of living in Nevada and Arizona where drivers speed up as soon as you turn on your blinker, this feels like a dream. There is just something about the flow of this city that I love and I can't get enough of. I feel very lucky to be able to call myself a Seattle resident ;) Here are some pictures from my iphone to help illustrate what we've been up to. Caution, there are A LOT. But hey, it's been a while, right? ;)
xoxo, michelle
